Medera Timber Shading
The Solinear Solex-Medera range of timber solar shading products are manufactured from a range of sustainable timbers to provide effective external solar shading and screening solutions to the building using the natural beauty and character of wood.
Profiles

The shading blade and rafter profiles used can be either standard 'regular' geometery or bespoke to suit our client exact requirements. Generally one piece constructions are available up to 290mm x 45mm in size. Sizes bigger than this blank are also available but will be composite, multi-lamina, units.
Blade profiles are fixed between end plate rafter units and can have stainless steel 'floating' pin connection features or alternatively a simple butt-joint splice can be achieved using M5 stainless steel fixings secured into blade end FIX-LOK inserts.
Materials
Not all woods are suitable for use in solar shading. Solinear would recommend using western red cedar wood as the most cost effective and stable solution. Alternative woods, such as, Oak or Larch are also suitable but are denser and may effect service loading to the building structure.
Accoya or Thermwood are also available at premium cost.
