Not all wood types are suitable for use in timber louvre and solar shading systems. Solinear can offer design advice on selection of suitable woods and also their associated durability and structural performance properties. Typical wood types to consider would be; Western Red Cedar, Meranti, European Oak, Douglas Fir, Larch along with Thermowood and Accoya. Where required engineered timber solutions are also available. There are no standard blade profile geometries, timber offers complete bespoke design flexibility as all profiles originate from a simple rectangular plank section suitable for machine processing to any given shape.
Our MEDERA™ product range includes the complete design, manufacture and contract installation of static and operating timber solar shading, timber louvre screening, timber louvre door systems along with 'hybrid' ALU-TIMBER solutions which combines the structural stability and homogenous nature of extruded and sheet aluminium alloy with natural timber to provide robust shading or louvre screening solutions. Galvanised mild steel and stainless steel materials have also been used alongside timber.
